The Black Educators Association - Adult Learning Program (ALP) is a community based educational program designed for adults who want to continue their education, especially for those of the African-Nova Scotia community.

 

The Black Educators Association (BEA) was founded in 1969 to assist African Nova Scotian communities develop strategies toward an equitable education system.

 

Demonstrating a strong commitment as a grassroots organization, the BEA also coordinates their efforts with the Department of Education and Culture, the African Canadian Service Division, community groups, parent associations , school boards, as well as other educational bodies. The BEA is a volunteer, non-profit organization.

 

The BEA, ALP is funded by the Nova Scotia Department of Labour and Workforce Development and we operate under the guidelines established by the Nova Scotia School for Adult Learning.
